The Mitigation Process

Inspection

First, you give us a call. We come to your home and inspect the damage that has been done from the broken water source. The fear of mold, rot, and permanent damage to your house can be very stressful. It is important to get help quickly. That is why we have a 90 minute response time to tackle the situation head on, making sure your property is not damaged any further and is restored to the original condition.  

Stabilization Process

Next, we explain our findings and proceed to inform you on the next appropriate steps to take. 

Example: Determine if you need to file an insurance claim. After we fully explain the process of the damage and how we will fix the problem. We will begin to set up blowers and dehumidifiers to start stabilizing your home to prevent further damage, control the humidity, and prevent secondary damage.

Testing for Hazardous Materials

Washington state requires us to test each home for hazardous materials such as asbestos or lead (regardless of the year it was built). While a claim is underway with the insurance company, we will perform a survey. A survey will provide us with information to mitigate the hazards and provide a safe and healthy environment.

When a room in your home has been affected by water damage, it is very important that we get your belongings to a safe place. Whether that would be in your home or in a climate controlled storage supplied by us to prevent damage to those items during the mitigation process. Don't worry, we have our own contents department that will assist in this to eliminate as much stress as possible. 

Demolition Phase

We then set up a containment in your home to protect the unaffected area. Our containment stops the migration of dust particulates or any other hazards that may present themselves. After we protect your home, we start cutting out everything that we cannot save such as drywall, insulation, or flooring. After every demolition we provide a thorough cleaning with our state of the art HEPA filtrated vacuums to provide the cleanest work site possible. 

Drying Phase

Once we have everything removed and have access to the structure of your home, we apply a Botanical Anti Microbial to clean the Microbial affected area. We set up state of the art drying equipment specialized for your type of water damage in efforts to save as much material as possible. The drying process usually takes anywhere from 3 to 7 days. We are so thorough in cleanliness we provide another HEPA filtrated vacuum so when we are completed, your home will be clean!
